Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today filed a complaint with the Chief Secretary of Goa over the non- functioning of the morgue at the Goa Medical College in Bambolim.

Drawing the attention of the Chief Secretary that on 19th December 2013 the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had inaugurated the so called State of the Art Forensic block cum Morgue wich was built at a whopping cost of over 40 crores, Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint has stated that its almost five long years and that new morgue is not yet operational with post-mortems still being conducted in the old rotting and dilapidated morgue.

Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that amongst other very expensive equipment,  the four new autopsy tables which were bought for over a crore are rusting unused as the project was not designed properly with no proper drainage and ventilation facilities in place.

Alleging that the whole project smacks of a multi crore scam and must be probed by the Vigilance department, Adv. Rodrigues while stating that the role if any of the then Head of the department must come under the scanner has drawn the attention of the Chief Secretary that a Assistant Professor of the Forensic department who was overseeing this flawed project has built a massive palatial bungalow for himself.

Demanding that officials of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation which executed this fiasco loaded venture must also be investigated, Adv. Rodrigues has called upon the Chief Secrtary to  direct the Vigilance department to conduct an immediate inquiry and to initiate criminal proceedings against those guilty of conspiring and causing willful loss to the State exchequer.
