Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, while welcoming the Union Budget, highlighted the landmark income tax exemption for individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh per annum as one of the major aspects of the budget.
Reacting to the Union Budget on Saturday, Sawant stated that this exemption provides significant relief to the middle class, fosters greater savings and investments, and strengthens the foundation of a more robust India.
“I wholeheartedly welcome the Vikasit Bharat Budget 2025 presented by Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Sawant explained that the budget outlines 10 Broad Development Measures under the four pillars of Viksit Bharat—Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Annadata, and Gareeb Kalyan—setting the stage for a stronger and more prosperous India.
The Chief Minister further stated that the budget introduces transformative reforms in taxation, the power sector, urban development, mining, financial regulations, and export promotion. It also prioritizes tourism-driven economic growth, employment generation, shipbuilding, fisheries, and enhanced private sector participation in innovation.
“By focusing on accelerating growth amidst global uncertainties, investing in infrastructure, and empowering human resources, this budget reaffirms our commitment to Kartavya Kaal—ensuring that our collective efforts drive India towards the vision of Vikasit Bharat 2047,” he added.
