Panaji: After announcing the action plan for women and self-help groups under Swayampurna Goa, chief minister Pramod Sawant released the action plan to support agriculture and animal husbandry under.
Swayampurna Goa, a village level action plan, is an initiative under the Centre’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign to make Goa self sufficient.
The initiatives under the animal and husbandry will include prevention of wild animals and cattle menace at agriculture field, dairy farming and poultry farming will be promoted and Khazan land will be developed.
To revive the fields, development of Manas will be under taken. To help farmers, crop insurance and fencing will be availed. Horticulture cultivation, procurement of agricultural equipment, and sustainable harvesting of medical plants will also be assisted with.
NABARD, SIDBI will be revised criteria for schemes.
The plan also includes revival of water bodies rainwater harvesting, initiative in implementation of watershed project.
Setup food processing unit for locally grown fruits including jackfruit, kokum, atam, turmeric, chilli, muskmelon, mango, amla etc.
Revert uncultivated land of communidade to village and initiate cooperative contract community organic farming will also be undertaken under the Swayampurna Goa campaign.
