
The Chief Electoral Officer, Shri Kunal, IAS, held a meeting with representatives of political parties to discuss and review various issues concerning the Electoral Roll, Polling Stations among other things.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Electoral Officer Shri Kunal, IAS. The representatives of Political parties who attended the meeting were Shri Altinho Gomes, Vice President of Congress Party, Shri Pundalik Raut Desai, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Sandeep Vernekar, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, Shri Durgadas Kamat, Vice President of Goa Forward Party and other representatives of political parties.
Shri Narayan Sawant, Additional CEO, Smt Aisha Vaingainkar, Jt CEO, and Smt Sangeeta Naik, Dy CEO were present on the occasion.
Shri Kunal briefed political parties on the number of polling stations to be set-up in the State and reiterated that every effort will be made to improve voter experience. He also discussed the future plans with regards to Special Summary revision, including the factual results of a special drive that took place from November 1, 2021 to November 30, 2021.
CEO urged all political parties to appoint nodal officers who would be trained on the election’s legal and regulatory framework in accordance with ECI guidelines. The Nodal officers would be trained on a variety of topics such as expenditure rules, nomination form completion, election agent duties etc. CEO also ensured the prompt redressal of issues raised by political parties.
Smt Sangeeta Naik, Dy CEO explained the Goa basic data, such as the number of projected population in 2021 compared to the 2011 census, the number of polling station locations and polling stations, gender ratio, and the average number of voters per part, among other things.
