Kala Gaurav Puraskar Declared

The Directorate of Art & Culture has implemented The ‘Kala Gaurav Puraskar’ scheme under which renowned personalities who have excelled and given extraordinary contribution in their respective field of Art & Culture are being honored by the government.

Under the scheme the artist who have attended the age of 60 years and have contributed in the field of Music/ Dance, Drama/ Tiatr, Folk Art, Creative Photography/Painting, Craft, Sculpture, Bhajan/Kirtan, Literature, Film are felicitated presenting this prestigious award.

It is informed that this year total sixty personalities from the field of Art & Culture are selected for the said award. The Committee has decided that, State Government is celebrating 60 years of Goa Liberation and 75 years of Indian Independence, hence, it will be an appropriate gesture to felicitate 60 deserving artists on the occasion of the State celebrating 60 years of Goa Liberation.

The awardees will be honoured with a shawl, shrifal, a certificate of appreciation and financial purse to the extent of Rs. 25,000/- per awardee.

The following personalities will be awarded with ‘Kala Gaurav Puraskar’, Smt. Shobha Shiva Fulkar, Shri. Vaman Govind Takekar and Smt. Ana Tereza E. Ferreira for their contribution in the field of Literature, Shri. Sadanand L. Satarkar, Shri. Camilo P. Fernandes, Shri. Ajit M. Sardessai, Gurudas J. Tari, Shri. Janardhan A. Kundaikar, Shri. Alvito A. M. De Araujo and Roque X. F. Fernandes in the field of Music, Smt. Namrata N. Potnis, Shri. Ganesh Deu Ghadi, Smt. Sita Rama Borkar, Shri. Pandurang Fati Naik, Smt. Rukhmabai Krishna Chari, Smt. Pramodini P. Chari and Shri. Sonu T. Murgaonkar in Folk Art, Shri. Joao F. Rodrigues, Shri. Mario P. Menezes, Shri. Joao P. Dias, Smt. Socorrina Fernandes, Shri. Peter V. Fernandes and Netrakant Panchawadker in the field of Tiatr, Smt. Gulab D. Sawant, Shri. Bhiva C. Parab, Shri. Raghoba V. Parab, Shri. Amrutrao R. Bhonsle, Shri. Ratnakar V. Gaad for his contribution in the field of Painting.

The Kala Gaurav Puraskar will be presented to the awardees at a special function to be organized by the department shortly.
