Panaji: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday staged a protest march to the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee office in Panaji, condemning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s actions outside the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi.
The protest was led by BJP Goa President Damodar Naik, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Vasco MLA Daji Krishna Salkar, and other party leaders and workers.
Addressing the protesters, Naik alleged that certain “anti-social elements” were attempting to create violence in the country and accused the Congress of misleading the youth.
“This is an effort by anti-social elements to create violence in the country. The younger generation is being misled by these elements,” he said.
Naik claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had implemented several reforms aimed at empowering the youth and asserted that opposition parties were trying to destabilise a government that was taking the country forward.
He alleged that Rahul Gandhi was leading such efforts for political reasons.
Referring to the NEET examination controversy, Naik said the matter was already being investigated by the Union Government and that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been constituted.
“The issue of NEET is already over, but they are trying to use it as an excuse. The Union Government has initiated an inquiry, and an SIT has already been formed. Whatever is happening is purely politics,” he said.
The BJP leaders raised slogans against the Congress during the march and accused the opposition party of attempting to create unrest under the guise of public protests.
