Panaji: Even as State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that he would be interacting with experts to keep the virus under control, a senior Aam Admi Party leader Valmiki Naik has said that he had warned the government in the last week of February asking them not to act after cases have increased.
Goa reported 265 cases on Thursday clearly indicating that the covid is on the rise in the state.
Referring to his tweet, Naik said “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.”
On February 22, 2021, Naik, who has been one of the prominent faces of Arvind Kejriwal-led party, tweeted “Last week buildings were being sealed, now just 5 days later cities are under lockdown in Maharashtra. Request @DrPramodPSawant and @Visrane to take proactive steps to ensure Goa is not affected. As we have seen, acting after cases have increased means it is already too late.”
Later, Rane on March 31, 2021 had tweeted “In view of rising cases in the state it is my humble appeal to the citizens to follow all the SOPs of wearing a mask and following strict social distancing as per govt. directions., We shall be interacting with expert committee on steps to be taken to keep the virus under control.”
