Panaji: The irresponsible BJP Government has insulted the Marathas led by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by calling the Great Warriors as Invaders. The clarification issued by the Tourism Department makes propaganda of Salazars Portuguese regime. Is this the MODIfied History BJP is now writing Mr. Chief Minister questioned Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
Condemning the irresponsible tweet of Tourism Department pertaining to Fort Aguada wherein the Tourism Department which had termed Maratha’s as Invaders, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat demanded apology from the Chief Minister of Goa for insulting the sentiments of the patriotic Indians. He has also said that the clarification tweet of Tourism Department is making propaganda of Portuguese regime.
The contribution of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and the Great Maratha Warriors for Goa should never be forgotten. It is most unfortunate that the BJP Government has insulted the Maratha Warriors stated Digambar Kamat.
The BJP Government after coming to power in Goa in 2012 and at the Centre in 2014 have always remained busy in glorification of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jumla Politics. They have conveniently tried to side line the glorious history of our Country. It is high time that the BJP organizes programmes for their Cadres to learn and understand the real history of India said Digambar Kamat.
The Tourism Department needs to focus on maintaining discipline on various tourist locations rather than getting indulged in false propaganda. The Department needs to put efforts to ensure that all the tourist locations are kept clean.
I demand a thorough investigation in this matter and strict action needs to be taken against all those who are responsible for insulting the Maratha Warriors demanded Digambar Kamat.
