Panaji: Goa Police on Saturday summoned Aam Admi Party’s Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre in connection with the protest held outside the residence of BJP MLA, last week.
Mhambre had led the protest outside the residence of BJP MLA Wildred De Sa in Nuvem village of South Goa on July 10 during which there was ruckus. Goa Police had booked case against Mhambre and several other AAP workers including its State Vice President Pratima Coutinho.
“Today appeared before Goa Police for the summons served on me. Wud advice @BJP4Goa to use such intimidating tactics of using state govt machinery with some other party. Such tactics only but strengthen my resolve to work for my people of Goa,” Mhambre tweeted after appearing at Maina-Curtorim police station in South Goa.
AAP had led morcha on the residence of the MLA as a protest against the verbal abuse of their leader, Coutinho, who had gone to offer cake to the legislator on the earlier day as a part of their campaign against defectors.
De Sa was one amongst the ten Congress MLAs, who had switched over to BJP in July 2019.
