Panaji:The Home Isolation kits which were given for the patients during the first COVID-19 wave have suddenly disappeared from the Health Centres.

The kits with the picture of CM Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on it were launched with much fanfare during the first wave providing relief to the patients who were tested positive but adviced to get treatment from home.

Inquiries at various Health Centres reveal that there is shortage of the kits while even there are no medicines available with the doctors.

CM Sawant had assured last week that “if not the kits, but at least medicines would be provided to the patients.”

But the ground reality is getting grimmer. As the number of patients is on rise, the Home Isolation kits are absent forcing the patients to go to the pharmacies. When entire family is tested positive, one of the person from the  family is forced to go to the pharmacy, further spreading the virus.
