Tourism Minister inaugurates exhibition on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

Panaji:  Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte inaugurated an exhibition titled “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” on Sunday at Mapusa.

The exhibition organised by State government displays the pictures clicked during the partition. Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Joshua De Souza was also  was also present on the occasion.

Khaunte said that the exhibition is a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative which is celebrated across the country. He said that while celebrating our Independence, it is also important for us to remember the horrors that people  went through during partition.

This exhibition was to share information about the partition, he said adding that the people were divided on religious ground during partition, he stated.

We need to pay homage to those people who went through pain and horror during the partition, Khaunte said.

“In the 75th year of Independence, we need to propagate the message of communal harmony. We need to pass on the information about partition to the next generation,” the tourism minister said.
