Panaji: Total six people succumbed to covid19 infection on Friday. Five died at GMCH and one at South Goa District Hospital.
Among the 5 deaths reported at GMC, 2 patients have expired in less than 6 hours. The one patient admitted as medico legal case was into a surgical unit and was found covid positive on admission. The exact cause of death will be available only after the postmortem.
The second patient was symptomatic with cough and fever for 06 days and detected covid positive 06 days back and was being monitored under home isolation. However, patient developed breathlessness and desaturation and expired within 2 hours of arrival at GMC.
The one patient who expired at SGDH was brought in respiratory failure and succumbed to covid 19 infection despite resuscitation.
