Panaji: Goa Police have said that the Ertiga vehicles which were commissioned yesterday were taken back to fit them with the GPS systems.
A senior police official said that the vehicles including 26 for PCR and 6 for highway patrolling would be introduced on the road after GPS is fitted on them.
“The vehicles are allotted to PCR and Highway Patrol and will put in use once fitted with advanced GPS systems which will help Control Room to monitor the movement of the vehicles,” he said. “These advanced systems are expected to be received during the next week,” the officer added.
Also, mobile data terminals are going to be fitted to these vehicles. These will help in locating the place from where the call is received.
