Panaji: The Pernem police has filed FIR against Jit Arolkar for cheating worth Rs 25-30 crore by fraudulently executing sale deeds of the plots in Pernem using his power of attorney.
The accused has been charged under 420 of IPC after upon the complaint of Mapusa resident Sandhya Bandekar. It has been alleged that Arolkar had fraudulently and dishonestly executed the deeds of sale using his power of attorney of a plot in Dhargalim, Pernem before sub registrar of Pernem.
Following the complaint the Pernem has been carrying out investigation and is making efforts to collect relevant document evidences from concerned offices to establish prove of offence and cheating.
The complaint was filed on October 26 and the accused had been granted interim bail till the disposal of the bail application. The next hearing of the case is on November 27.
