Orange alert issued for Goa, high wave warning issued for North

Panaji: Goa continued receiving heavy rains on Thursday amidst Orange Alert issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD bulletin mentions that Heavy rainfall at scattered places with very heavy rainfall are expected at isolated places with strong surface winds very likely over North Goa South Goa districts.

The IMD has also given high wave warning for the coast of Goa.

As per IMD, Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Service (INCOIS) has issued High Wave Warning for the coast of North Goa from Chapora to Panaji (Malim).
“High waves in the range of 3.7 – 4.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 16-07-2024 to 23:30 hours on 18-07-2024. It advised that small vessels not to ply, nearshore recreation activities to be totally suspended, and erosion/wave surges possible,” he said.
