Bicholim: The senior Congressmen and office bearers from Mayem have vowed to get elected alliance candidate Santosh Kumar Sawant with good margin.
The member of Congress State Committee Sandip Mainkar along with Senior office bearer Vishwanath Dhavaskar addressed a press conference and extended their support to Santosh Kumar Sawant. “Congress Party has given this seat to Goa Forward as its candidate Sawant has been working past many years in Mayem. He has the capability of winning. Hence, respecting the decision of the party we have decided to work for Sawant in full force.” Mainkar said.
Treasurer of Mayem Congress Block Babi Chari, panch memmer Prasad Chodankar and Mahanand Volvoikar were also present on the occasion.
Dhavaskar said that the report of Mayem block resignations is false. “Loyal Congress party workers have not left the party. They are still in Congress and will work for the party.” He said.
Dhavaskar said that Congress is a big party and many joined this party with intention to work for their constituencies. “It is not correct to leave the party if tickets are denied. Congress party had never confirmed the ticket to any aspiring candidates, but were told to work for the party.” Dhavaskar replied to the question.
Dhavaskar said that all the efforts will be put for the victory of Santosh Kumar Sawant. “we all will work with full zeal and will get elected to Sawant.” He said.
