Vasco: Minister Mauvin Godinho has demanded the removal of Mormugao Municipal Council Chief Officer, Deepak Priolkar, for being “incompetent” and “inefficient” after he failed to move the file for the regularization of houses built by municipal workers at New Vaddem.
Godinho said that Housing Board Chairman Jit Arolkar and other members had asked the municipality to move the proposal for the regularization of these houses, which has yet to be moved by the Chief Officer.
The minister said, “As far as Dabolim is concerned, we are first in development. This is the work of the municipality. The CO is the most inefficient and incompetent,” he said.
“I had invited Housing Board Chairman Jit Arolkar along with all the Board members. They had agreed to send a request from the municipality for regularization, which he has not done,” he added.
Arolkar said, “I would request the CM to remove him from the post. As promised to the people, these houses have to be regularized. The Housing Board has assured that they will regularize it.”
“I will ask the CM to call a meeting and sort out the issue. We can’t have such a chief officer who keeps the work pending. I like to work at a fast pace, but anyone who does not like my way of working should sit at home,” he said.
