Dona Paula: Manipal Hospital at Dona Paula has successfully treated a case of acute leukaemia (blood cancer) bringing in new chapter in the medical history of Goa.
Dr Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital, in a facebook post, has revealed the news which goes as a major for the cancer patients in the state.
Salkar posted “Congratulations to Dr Mahadev Swami our haematoncologist my colleague at Manipal Hospital Goa and his Team for successfully treating acute leukaemia (blood cancer) fully at Manipal Hospital, Goa successfully.”
“ Till now he has treated more than 300 patients of haematology!
It includes leukaemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma, ITP and other conditions!”
Salkar wrote “a very talented dedicated n sincere doctor . We are lucky to have him as our consultant.”
“Next stop is Bone Marrow Transplant for which all infrastructure is ready and will be conducting first case soon!”
“Also kudos to resident doctors and nurses and absolute cleanliness and barrier nursing are extremely important support in getting good results!”
