Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured on the floor of the House to take stock of various issues faced by Porvorim constituency and the pending works.
The issues were raised by local MLA Rohan Khaunte during Zero Hour on Friday. Khaunte listed out various pending works and issues faced by the constituency people.
The MLA pointed out that there is a fear and anxiety in the minds of people due to haphazard planning of the area owing to increasing number of Government, Commercial and Residential complexes.
He said that Porvorim is categorized under rurban status however the constituency still faces major problems for water, garbage, sewerage and electricity. “Therefore it is imperative to commission water treatment plant so as to ease out water related problems of the area.”
The MLA stated that the street light polls are either non functional or require frequent repairing and lot of street lights polls don’t have any fitting due to shortage of the same.
“This results in areas with dark spots, accidents and security issues. We are still awaiting street light policy.”
“There’s pendency on sewerage tratment plant where the land for setting up of plant is pending clearances,” he said.
“Similarly, other vital projects like Housing Board market, multipurpose panchayat ground, proposed fire station, science park, PDA garden, tourism art park also needs to be operational,” he demanded.
Responding to the Zero Hour mention, the Chief minister said that he will give instruction to concern departments and take their replies.
