Panaji: Former Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar reluctantly has admitted that the current infightings in BJP would not have happened, if Manohar Parrikar was alive.

Parulekar was addressing a press conference in Panaji to take on former MLA Kiran Kandolkar over his statement that the party discriminates leaders from “certain caste.”

Kandolkar, who is upset after his wife was denied a ticket for Zilla Panchayat election, had alleged that leaders like Parulekar and Damu Naik were discriminated in the party.

Parulekar rubbished statements of Kandolkar and said that the party is important than any person. He said that Kandolkar should have expressed himself to the party leaders, rather than going to the media.

On asked about differences between Subhash Faldesai and Vinay Tendulkar, Parulekar gave a similar answer.

Responding to a question, Parulekar said that such kind of situation would not have arisen, if Parrikar was alive.

But in the same breathe, he added “that does not mean, the current leaders are not doing their best. They are also doing their best.”
