Porvorim: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday set up deadline for various departments to implement the announcements made in the recently tabled State Budget.

Sawant was talking to reporters after chairing the high level meeting of the State government secretaries giving them different deadlines to implement the announcements made in the Budget.

The Chief Minister, who also holds Finance Portfolio, had tabled State Budget on March 24 during recently held Assembly Session.

Sawant said that the different announcements were made in the Budget related to creation of infrastructure, implementing the reforms and others, which needs to be implemented at the ground level.

The chief minister said that all the announcements will be fulfilled within a deadline.

In yet another decision, Sawant said that the state government has asked Public Works Department to give data of all the state owned premises which are unoccupied.

“We will shift the government offices, operating in the rented premises to these buildings,” he said.

Sawant said that the state government is working on a mission mode and the Vision Documents of 84 departments have been prepared, which would now be compiled.

He said that the state government is working towards implementing all the 122 central government’s schemes in the state for which two consultancy firms have been empanelled, who would be paid as per the success rate of the schemes.

Sawant said that the state government has cleared all the backlog of the Utilisation Certificates for the Central government schemes, some of which were pending since 1990s.
