Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday announced that beneficiaries of the “Mhaje Ghar” scheme will receive their house regularisation documents at their doorsteps within the next six months.
Sawant was addressing a state-level programme in Panaji to distribute documents under this ambitious scheme, which regularises ancestral houses in the state.
The Chief Minister pointed out that opposition parties had tried to create hurdles in the passage of the legislation related to this scheme on the floor of the House in the past. Sawant appealed to people to question the opposition parties about their anti-citizen stand when approached for votes.
Sawant said that the process of regularising houses under this scheme has been taken up on a war footing across the state.
“We will ensure that within the next six months, the documents regularising the houses are delivered to the doorstep of each beneficiary,” he said.
Sawant said that this scheme will remove the fear of losing ancestral houses from the minds of Goans.
During the function held in Panaji, documents were distributed to several beneficiaries in the presence of State Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserratte, State Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, State Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar, and others.
