Panaji: Goa Forward Party on Friday laid to rest the speculations that they will withdraw from Pramod Sawant-led government to form another dispensation with the help of Congress party in Goa.
GFP Chief and Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai told reporters in Panaji that the speculations that were being played through various newspapers were absolutely wrong.
“The speculations keep newspapers alive. I am a person who goes by my word. I don’t do things by hiding,” Sardesai said reacting to the statement that he will withdraw from government to form another alternative with the support of Congress.
GFP which had supported Manohar Parrikar-led government has continued their support with Sawant-led government, after the demise of then Chief Minister.
“I am a member of NDA. If NDA tells me that I am made CM then I will come and tell you,” he said.
On asked whether, he was approached by Congress to form the government, Sardesai reacted “I am approached by everybody. But will I form the new government, after attending swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi.”
Sardesai along with his party colleagues had attended swearing in ceremony of Modi in New Delhi.
He said that he is not in touch with congress to form any government.
After the recent by elections, BJP has become single largest party in the House with 17 MLAs, while Congress has 15. Goa Forward Party and Independents are three each while one each is from NCP and MGP.
