Panaji: Goa police on Friday arrested five contract killers who were on the run after murdering a man at Satara in Maharashtra.
A senior Goa police official said that the five accused had killed one Amit Bhosle after accepting a contract to eliminate him.
A joint team of Anjuna Police and Crime Branch
arrested five persons Suraj Kadam (26), Abhishekh Chatur (27), Raju Pawar (26) all from Satara, Shubham Chatur (27) and Sachin Chawan (29) from Pune for murdering one Amit Bhosle at Wade Fate in Satara on January 24, 2023.
Satara police had booked case under Arms Act and also of murder under Indian Penal Code against all the accused.
The officer said that accused were travelling from one place to another to avoid their arrest and were planning to escape out of India.
They were arrested by a joint team of Anjuna Police and Crime Branch at Arpora in North Goa. A jeep which they were used to travel has also been confiscated by the police.
“ Satara Taluka Police have been informed about the apprehending of the above accused and they are on way Goa to take the custody of the above accused persons,” the officer said.
