Panaji:Goa government will soon start vaccination for the people between 18-44 years of age soon as the first lot of vaccines have arrived on Thursday, a senior health department official said.

Director of Health Services Dr Jose D’Sa said that a first lot of 32,000 vaccines from Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) have arrived in the state on Thursday.

He said that the government will work out a plan how to go ahead with the vaccination through the state run facilities.

D’Sa clarified that the vaccination will be provided only after online booking through the dedicated portals.

Another senior health department official said that the vaccinations would be administered at 23 Primary Health Centres, six Community  Health Centres, four Urban Health Centres, Goa Medical College at Bambolim and Rural Health Centre at Mandur near Panaji.
