Sanguem: Deputy Chief Minister and Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai has assured to suspend the forest department officials who were responsible for felling of several hundred arecanut trees at Netravali.
Sardsai along with Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar and Ex South Goa member of parliament Narendra Sawaikar met the agitating farmers at Netravali.
Back from the visit, Vijai tweeted “Have promised the agitating people at Netravali @ #Sanguem that the Range Forest Officer accused of high handedness will be placed on suspension pending inquiry , as a Confidence Building Measure in the wake of constant confrontation between locals and Forest Dept Officials.”
