Ponda, Goa: Dr. Gajesh Gopal Shenvi Usgaonkar has been awarded a PhD at the age of 56 under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Prabhu Gaonkar for his research titled “Performance Evaluation of Local Eco-Friendly Oils as Cutting Fluids in Machining Operation.”

His innovative work focused on the use of cashew nut shell oil as a sustainable alternative to costly synthetic cutting fluids in metal machining. The research demonstrated high performance in cooling and lubrication while being environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
