COVID-19: Saturday saw third death in Goa, highest spike in cases

Panaji: Goa on Saturday reported third death related to COVID-19 infection as well as highest spike in the number of cases.

 

A 76-year-old woman who was admitted in COVID hospital in Margao town died on Saturday due to infection, a senior health department official said. He said that the woman was admitted to the hospital from a private facility, a week back.

 

This is the third death due to COVID-19 infection reported in the state. The first two deaths were reported on June 22 when a 85-year-old and another 58-year-old, both men, who were admitted in COVID hospital died on the same day.

 

On Saturday, Goa reported the highest spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases with 89 new persons tested with the infection on a single day.
