Panaji: Shri Shri Shri Vidhyadiraj Teerth Shripad Vader Swamiji has ordered that all the upcoming events in GSB Temples of Uttara Kannada including utsavs, dindi utsavs, vardhanti utsavs, kalyanotsavs and santarpans related to utsavs till 30/07/2021 i.e., till Krishna paksha of Ashada masa should be cancelled due to fear of second wave of covid.

Under the guidance of Poojya Shri Shri Shri Vidhyadiraj Teerth Shripad Vader Swamiji, here is a notice letter to all committee members of all Temples which are adjunct of the Shri Mutt and those which are under the purview of the Shri Mutt:
In order to stop spreading of already declared pendamic, COVID-19, effective measures have been taken in the state. The 2nd wave of COVID-19 is in its full form in Karnataka state, which has again created a situation of fear and anxiety among people. The efforts done in controlling the spread of the disease in the last one year have shown good results. There is every chance that the 2nd wave can put all those efforts to vain. Hence, the Government has asked not to conduct any religious gatherings(utsavs), public gatherings in any Religious place. Regarding this matter, the State Government has issued official order to the concerned officials.
Viewing this matter, to protect everyone’s health, Parama Poojya Swamiji has given holy guidance. It is told that all upcoming events in all GSB temples of Uttara Kannada District, which include utsavs, dindi utsavs, vardhanti utsavs, kalyanotsavs and santarpans related to utsavs till 30/07/2021 i.e., till Krishna paksha of Ashada masa should be cancelled. It is thus instructed to conduct all the utsavs in the up-coming year (2022) when things come back to normal i.e., in Magha/phalguna masas.
Annually in all temples 1. Deva Pratishta vardhanti, 2. Vaarshika Rathotsava, 3. Before Chaturmasya vruta (Ashada masa), 4. After Kartika poornima, samprokshanas are conducted. All these samprokshanas, as mentioned in Bharadwaja Samhita, should be done by Dwadasha Kalasha Sthapana, Poojana and Abhisheka to Lord followed by Maha Pooja. In Bharadwaja Samhita there no Avahana for 13th Kalasha(middle one). In case of Vasantotsav in Chaitra/ Vaishaka, it should be done in the presence of limited devotees.
Dashami dindi utsav should be done in inner premises of the temple. Panchakhadya naivedya should be done to Lord and prasad should be disbursed as a symbolic of Santarpana. Panaka should not be served in this occasion.
Adhering to strict order from Govt. and with the concern for everyone’s health, it is requested that the above mentioned guidelines from Swamiji be followed. It is foreseen that in the upcoming years we have golden opportunity of celebrating all the festivals with rejoice.
