Porvorim: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant took a dig at AAP MLA Venzy Viegas on the floor of the House claiming that if he listens to the models suggested by the latter, the CM would be in jail.
The chief minister and the AAP MLA were discussing issue of career guidance for the students on the floor of the House during ongoing Monsoon session on Friday.
After a brief verbal exchange with the chief minister, Viegas said that the model (of career guidance) followed by Goa government is a failure. “There is a failure in model of this government in career guidance,” the AAP MLA commented.
Responding to his statement, Sawant said “if we listen to his (Venzy’s) model, then Chief minister gets jailed. Apparently referring to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister said “one fellow is already in jail.”
Earlier, initiating discussion about the career guidance, the AAP MLA said that he had done “root cause analysis of why unemployment is on rise in the state.”
He said that the career-guidance approach is not in the right manner. “The children (youth) are not opting to various jobs in our industry. I would request you to offer personalised career path guidance using career co-piloting by using Artificial Intelligence algorithm.”
The chief minister responding to the statement told the House that during last five years, the state government has been conducting programmes in the schools advising students on their career.
He said that the state government is also implementing skill upgradation and career guidance with the help of various departments.
