CM helps injured person at Khandepar, Ponda, shifts him to hospital


Panaji:  Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday stopped his carcade to attend to a person who had met with an accident at Khandepar near Ponda town, 35 kms away from here.

“The Chief Minister instructed the driver to stop the carcade when he saw a person who had fallen on the roadside,” one of the official from Chief Minister’s Office said.

Sawant is a doctor by profession.

The person who was riding a two-wheeler had met with the self accident, and lying in a pool of blood.

“One of the escort vehicle of the chief minister was used to shift him to nearby state-run hospital in Ponda town,” CMO said.

The Chief Minister was on his way to attend the sugarcane growers who are currently agitating against state government’s failure to lift their produce.
