Porvorim: Goa CM Pramod Sawant has failed to keep up his promise of commissioning the water treatment plant at Porvorim by March 31.

Local MLA Rohan Khaunte, irked over the unexplainable delay in commissioning the plant, on Thursday gave a deadline of 4-5 days to the government to solve the issue or face the next course of action.

Khaunte said that the delay in commissioning the plant has forced water scarcity in his constituency. The MLA pointed out that CM had assured to complete the plant by March 31 but we are on April 15 and his promise remains unfulfilled.

The MLA accused CM of lying on several counts to the people of Goa.

“I want to ask the government what is their plan to solve the water scarcity in Porvorim,” he said adding that the PWD has continued giving connections to the new Commercial Establishments despite the fact that the taps run dry for locals.

The announcement of Har Ghar Nal, is actually extended by Har Ghar Nal but no Jal, he taunted.

Khaunte also urged PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar to look into the matter and commission the plant.
