Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant extended his greetings and good wishes to the people of Goa on the pious occasion of Diwali festival. Diwali festival signifies universal compassion, inner joy of peace, love and the awareness of unity to all.

In his greeting message, the Chief Minister said, ”Diwali Festival is celebrated to commemorate the return of Shri Ram, the Lord of virtue, to his kingdom after 14 years of exile. Diwali is a festival that illuminates people’s minds and hearts with the spirit of oneness. May the festival of lights bring happiness, peace and prosperity to all.”

”Diwali festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, hope over despair and knowledge over ignorance. This is the festival to remember that light triumphs over dark and good triumphs over evil. Same way, we are gradually emerging stronger from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic through vaccination,” he added.

”This Diwali, let’s take charge and reach out to the underprivileged people and spread smiles, in whatever small way we can”, the CM said.

I pray that the festival may impart lots of strength and power to overcome every hurdle on the way to success. May the divine lights of Diwali spread peace, prosperity, happiness and good health, he concluded.
