CM announces Swayampurna Goa campaign supporting women, self-help groups

Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday announced Swamyampurna Goa campaign, a village level action plan to make the state self-sufficient under the Centre’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The campaign will ideally focus on women and self-help groups in the state.
“Action plan for supporting women & Self Help Groups under Mission #AatmanirbharBharat #SwayampurnaGoa – A Village Level Action Plan to make Goa self sufficient,” Sawant tweeted.
The campaign includes provision of basic infrastructure for warehouse of food grain, storage cold storage, healthcare camps strengthening of Self-help groups (SHGs), formation of SHG Rio under NRLM, state scheme for SHG.
It will also promote training marketing traditional handicraft items to generate revenue and employment-cane furniture and items, coir, handicraft. Registration of all SHG under one umbrella will be done. Catering services to be promoted in government canteen by the SHGs entrepreneurship training and linkage with CMRY.
Branding, packaging and marketing/ e-marketing of rural produce goods agriculture as well as non agricultural products, financial literacy important information on bank account updating bank passbook use of ATM card mobile net, banking maintenance of business accounts skill based training candle making baking handicrafts etc will be provided to women and SHGs.
