Camp Court of the Goa Commission for SC/ST held at Canacona

Canacona: The hearing of the Camp Court conducted by Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, Chairperson, Goa Commission for SC/ST was held at Sristal Village Panchayat hall at Canacona on 19th February 2021 to resolve the issues of Forest Right Act, Kumeri Plot, Reserved Forest, Education, Water Supply, Roads for the villages of Tirwal, Manye, Nadke Marlim, Culvert at Nudke Marlim and various other roads in Tribal areas and other complaints which were received by this Commission.
The following Officers were attended the Camp court namely are Dr. Uday Gaonkar Assistant Director of Education, Shri Anil Shetgaonkar District Conservator of Forest , Shri Salelkar Assistant Conservator of Forest, Shri Anant Velip Range Forest Officer, Shri Ganesh Velip Executive Engineer (Roads), Shri M. Jamadhar Executive Engineer (water Supply), Shri Alister D’Souza Assistant Engineer (Water Supply), Shri Pradeep Pagi Junior Engineer (Water Supply), Shri Deepraj Madkaikar Junior Engineer (Water Supply), Shri Sagar Verlekar Assistant Director of Tribal Welfare representating Collector of South Goa.
Mr. Ganesh Velip place the uptodate status of work undertaken by PWD, the Chairperson directed the PWD authorities to submit the executive plan by every 10 days of its progress.
The Water Supply Department submitted that they will resolve the issue within 15 days.
Shri Anil Shetgaonkar stated that the finalisation of the forest claims will be taken up shortly and assured that they will settle all the cases as early as possible.
The Executive Engineer (Sports) also attended the proceeding and assured to finalise all the incomplete work by 31st March 2021.
AS far as Reserved Forest is concern, The DCF assured that they will resolve the issue within one month and further assured that they will not interfere in the private property of the tribal people and requested to move the application before the Settlement Officer to resolved the matter and to dispose the land issue.
Adv. Upasso Gaonkar, Adv. Anand Gaonkar, Adv. Dharmesh Vernekar and Shri Deepak Karmalkar presented and argued the cases on behalf of applicants.
Around 250 victims were presents for the hearing. The next hearing will be held at Margao.
