Panaji: Brother of Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar Mr Sandesh Gaonkar formally joined Congress along with his supporters in presence of GPCC President Girish Chodankar and Leaderof Opposition Digambar Kamat today at Congress House Panjim.
Malkarne VP Member Sandesh Gaonkar, Gajanand Raikar,Ex VP member & husband of present sarpanch Leeona Rodrigues Mr Baptist Rodrigues,Santosh Naik,Anil Mathkar,Sarvesh Naik,Pavto Gaonkar,Prajyot Kurdikar,Caitano Barreto and many other prominent workers were present during the function.
Speaking oto media Mr Sandesh Gaonkar said that BJP Government has failed to resolve many issues of the people of Sanguem. Forest rights,Selaulim Dam, Sanjivani Sugar Factory and many more issues are still pending and we always stood with the people for their genuine problem but this insensitive and inhuman Government took people of Sanguem for granted.We firmly believe that only Congress can solve the problem of the people.
We have worked for BJP for the past 20 years but BJP did not recognised our sacrifice. We have seen how our Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar worked to get the works done inspite of non cooperation from the BJP Government. We have decided to support Congress for the bright future of our constituency and Goa. Today common people are struggling due to rising inflation. Rates of essential commodities, Petrol, Diesel are on the rise. We have decided to teach a good lesson to BJP by defeating them in upcoming Assembly elections said Anil Mathkar. Mr Santosh Naik also spoke on the occasion.
Leader of opposition Digambar Kamat While welcoming the new members in Congress sais that Sanguem people and Constituency is not new to me as i have worked with the people to resolve issues of roads, electricity,Water supply and other issues when i was CM & Power Minister.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar welcomed all and assured to work with the people of Sanguem for better tomorrow.
