Panaji: The members of Bajarang Dal on Saturday burnt the effigy of Aftab Poonawala, the accused in Shraddha Walkar murder case at Curchorem town in South Goa.
Bajarang Dal members claimed that the incident is an instance of Love Jihad and cautioned the girls against such a trend.
“Hindu girls should be cautioned about such a trend. There should be awareness about such instances so that the parents and the children are alert about it,” Bajarang Dal Goa Convener Banesh Naik said referring to Love Jihad.
He demanded that the strictest punishment should be given to Aftab so that it will set an example for others who are trying to foster Love Jihad.
More than 100 members participated in the protest held at Curchorem town in South Goa.
