Panaji: The Central government on Monday assured “full support” to Goa to bring back normalcy after the cyclonic winds hit the coastal state on the weekend.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tweeted on Monday informing to the public about his conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sawant tweeted “Spoke to the Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji regarding the impact and devastation caused by the Tauktae cyclone in the state of Goa.”
“Hon’ble HM inquired about the widespread damage caused by the cyclone in the state and assured full support of all the central agencies to the state for returning to normalcy. We will provide all necessary assistance to Goans impacted by the cyclone,” he said in another tweet.
The cyclonic winds hit the state on Saturday and Sunday affecting the normal life. Majority parts of the state continued to plunge in the darkness while more than hundred houses had collapsed due to the impact of the wind.
