All the passengers who arrived on a flight from UK in Goa test negative for COVID-19 infection

Panaji: The Goa government on Tuesday said that all the 245 passengers who arrived in the state from the UK have tested negative for COVID-19 infection.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted on Tuesday “This is to inform that all passengers in today’s UK flight have been tested negative.”

Goa Airport has informed that the 97th Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flight arrived with 245 passengers on board from London-Heathrow on Tuesday morning.

“97th VBM flight arrived with 237 +8 pax from London-Heathrow today morning. With Rapid-PCR testing facility in place, the prescribed health screening protocols upon arrival for int’l pax are duly ensured by Team Goa in coordination with @AAI_Official @aairedwr @Pib_MoCA at Dabolim Goa International Airport,” the Goa Airport tweeted.

Goa has reported five cases of suspected omicron, including two Russians, who had arrived in the state on a merchant ship. All the five people have been kept in isolation at a facility in South Goa. The state government has sent their sample for genome sequencing in Pune, the results of which are awaited.
