Panaji: Aam Admi Party (AAP) has filed a complaint with State Election Commission that the serial number of voter from the list was written behind the ballot paper, thereby compromising the confidentiality of the entire exercise.

AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mahambrey, in the letter written to the SEC, has said that the have received numerous phone calls from voters that the serial number of the voter from voter’s list is written in ink behind their ballot paper.

“This practice raises a serious question about the conduct of the election in a free and fair manner. Such practice of writing serial number at the back of the ballot paper no longer ensures that one’s franchise is secret,” he said.

The AAP has sought clarification from SEC whether this practice is legal and according to the rules and regulations.
