Panaji: A total of 39.06% voters tuned up to vote for the zilla panchayat elections in the state till 2pm on Saturday. 39.62% and 38.45% of voters casted their vote in North Goa and South Goa till 2 pm.
The percentage of voters till 12 pm across the state were 26.32%.
The highest number of voters have been recorded in Barcem with 55.47% (till 2pm) and the lowest has been recorded at Reis Magir 30.31% (till 2pm). Meanwhile, villagers of Shel Melavali in Sattari who are opposing IIT Project turned out in a big number to cast their vote for ZP election. (Corr Devendra Gaonkar).
Only 12% voters had turned up during the first two hours of voting.
