Porvorim: Goa Forward Party chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has threatened to take government to the court if the Heritage Festival is shifted to non-heritage areas like Dhargal.

Sardesai told reporters that Tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar has given categorical assurance that the festival would be held at Fatorda, but we don’t mind it to be moved to other areas provided they are heritage areas.

The heritage festival can be held in areas like Chandor, Aldona, Old Market (Margao), Fountainhas and similar places, he said adding that if attempts were made to take it to some other areas like Dhargal, then the party would move to the Court.

“We cannot allow the wasteful expenditure in the name of this festival, if it is held in other areas. We are already having huge debt over our head. We will approach the court,” he said.
