Congress protest in Goa against arrest of their leaders in Delhi Congress protest in Goa against arrest of their leaders in Delhi APanaji: The congress party leaders in Goa held a protest in Panaji city on Tuesday mid-night condemning the arrest of their leaders including LoP Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi.
The Congress workers who gathered in Panaji burnt the effigy of Chief Election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The leaders of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee and Goa Pradesh Youth Congress committee held a protest in Panaji city around 11.30 pm on Tuesday.
The party’s Goa spokesman Adv Amit Palekar said that this was a symbolic protest against the arrest of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi.
Palekar said that the country is going through undeclared emergency, which was clearly seen after the arrest of Rahul Gandhi. He said that the Congress leaders were protesting against vote chori by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Congress leader Amarnath Panjikar said that the party has been working to save the democracy in the country but BJP is busy arresting the Congress leaders.
Goa Pradesh Youth Congress committee President Archit Naik said that CEC Gyanesh Kumar was acting at the instance of PM Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah.
“The ECI is completely failed and disaster under the chairmanship of Gyanesh Kumar. He should be sacked immediately,” he said.
Naik said that though the police have released Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, they may be arrested again as they are going to press for the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.
