Verna: Two workers died due to suffocation inside the crusher machine at a private Industry in Verna Industrial estate on Thursday.

A senior police officer said that two workers Akshay Pawar (24, Sangli, Maharashtra) and Akshay Patil (27, Kolhapur, Maharashtra) died due to suffocation when they entered the elevator pit to repair the crusher machine on Thursday at 4 pm.

As per complaint filed with Verna police, both the workers got suffocated and collapsed. “Further, they were shifted to hospital wherein they declared brought dead,” he said.
Police said that both the workers were working as operators for N J Renewable Energy Private Limited in Briquette Boiler plant at Cipla Unit at Verna Industrial Estate in South Goa.
