Calangute: Goa police on Wednesday night arrested the guest house owner and his manager from Calangute beach village for accommodating minor girls, who were later raped inside the rooms by two men.
Two men were arrested for raping three minor girls of the age 15, 13 and 11 respectively in two different rooms of same guest house on June 7 and June 8. All the five had checked in the guest house together.
Earlier, Goa police had arrested two accused Altaf Mujawar (19) and Om Naik (21) after rescuing all the three girls on June 8.
Both the accused were booked under BNS, POCSO and Goa Children’s Act for the abduction and rape of minor girls.
Continuing with the action, Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta said that two more accused were arrested including owner of the guest house located at Calangute, Rajat Chauhan (31) and his manager Mansoor Peer (35) last night by Goa police.
He said that both the accused were arrested for accommodating victims in the rape cases in their guest house without verification and consent of their parents which facilitated the crime.
Gupta said that both the accused were involved in abetment of crime and are booked under stringent BNS, POCSO and Goa Children’s Act.
“We are sealing the guest house and moving for cancellation of its license. Guest house management and owners will not be spared if they give room to a child in absence of any family or relatives accompanying him or her,” the SP said, cautioning all such facilities in the state.
He said that both the accused (owner and manager) have violated the law.
