Panaji: The Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) Goa desk in-charge Mahua Moitra on Saturday said that her party will do “whatever necessary” to ensure that BJP do not form the next government in Goa.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, Moitra said that TMC is the party that wants to defeat BJP and will do “whatever necessary.”
“There is no ego involved in doing anything.. we want to ensure that BJP does not win or form the government by backdoor,” Moitra said when asked about possible pre-poll alliance with Goa Forward party and Congress.
Moitra on Friday had tweeted hinting at possible alliance between GFP and Congress, while refusing to include name of Aam Aadmi Party in the anti-BJP camp.
“AAP is also part of anti BJP space. I may not have added them in the tweet. We are also including them,” she said adding “nothing is impossible in politics.”
Stating that there is no discussion yet on pre-poll alliance, Moitra said “this is a general view that we (TMC) is putting forward to the people of Goa.” She said that it is wrong to say that TMC is a B Team of BJP and is here in Goa to divide the votes and give extra mileage to the BJP.
“It is wrong to say that BJP will manage to win because of the TMC,” she said.
