Canacona: Former Union minister Suresh Prabhu will be a brand ambassador for Balaram Charitable trust’s Shram Dham scheme, in which needy people get their houses repaired through crowd funding.
Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, who is the engine behind this project, said that a function would be held on June 1 during which Prabhu would be formally announced as the Brand Ambassador of the scheme.
Tawadkar said that 20 houses are already completed under this project and 17 more are under construction across various talukas including Canacona, Sanvordem, Quepem, Priol and Sanguem.
He said that the target is to complete 100 houses by December this year.
