Panaji: Government today filed review petition in Supreme Court against its judgement imposing mining ban in the State, Chief Minister Pramod Sawnt said.
“Review Petition against the Supreme Court Judgment imposing mining ban in Goa has been filed by Goa Government today,” Chief Minister tweeted.
” Although delayed, our faith in Nyavdevta remains strong. We are deeply concerned by the effects of mining closure on livelihoods of our people,” he added further.

“This major step is one of our many persistent attempts towards safeguarding interest of mining dependents and Goan economy,” CM tweeted further.
Mining in Goa is shut since March 2018. Supreme court on February 7, 2018 quashed second renewals granted to 88 mining leases.
