St Cruz: One person died after a group of men attacked a house at St Cruz locality near Panaji late last night, in the case of alleged gang rivalry.
Superintendent of Police (North) Utkrishta Prasoon said that body of a person was found in St Cruz village last night, while there is also complaint of bullets being fired and vehicles damaged by a gang in the same area.
While Prasoon refused to divulge more details of the incident as investigations are on, police sources stated that a group of ten people had attacked house of one Imran Bepari from rival gang last last night.
He said that Bepari was also involved in several cases of extortion and was tried before Court in connection with them.
“After damaging cars, they fired six rounds on the vehicles and the house of Bepari. One of the bullet hit the fellow gang member who was taken out from there in wounded condition,” he said.
His body was recovered on the border of St Cruz village, he said.
