Panaji: To ensure that there are no illegal sand mining activities in the polluted river stretches as identified by the pollution authorities, Government has set up a special environment surveillance task force to keep a vigil.
Task force under District Magistrates is been constituted in North and South Goa.
“Special Environment Surveillance Task Force will ensure that the no illegal mining take place in the river belt of polluted stretches,” reads the notification issued by director environment Sanjeev Joglekar today.
